Yes. Several of the engines can already be started up and brought back to life, and more will be readied over time. Among the most notable is a massive Krupp diesel engine from 1926, which served as a power source during the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The center is equipped with a special exhaust system that channels the smoke up through the engine room and out through the lighthouse.
